Buyer guide – measurement and RFQ
Claw Clip Size Guide for B2B Buyers
Record the actual overall length, measurement unit and model reference. Confirm the value against the physical sample rather than relying only on Small, Medium or Large labels.
CL-001 – 105 mm Overall Length – PP

Product reference — not a measuring scale.
Record a model, length & unit
Use a specific product reference and actual measurement to make a size request clear.
Example: CL-001 — Overall Length 105 mm — PP. This identifies a verified model, not a hair-suitability or performance guarantee.
Market size labels
Mini, Small, Medium, Large and Jumbo are useful for conversation but are not standardized size ranges. Compare actual measurements, not labels alone.
ACTUAL MM > SIZE LABEL – Confirm the measured Overall Length with the supplier.
How Overall Length is measured
Overall Length is the total outside length of the claw clip, measured from one outermost end to the opposite outermost end.
Keep the clip in a consistent resting position and record the result in millimeters or centimeters. Do not substitute inner tooth length, internal cavity or jaw opening for this outside measurement.
The illustration uses the verified CL-001 product image. It explains one measurement only and does not assert width, height, jaw opening or tooth dimensions.
Why similar-length clips can still differ structurally
Overall length describes outside scale, not holding capacity. Two clips with similar lengths may still differ in curvature, internal space, jaw geometry and tooth design. Compare the real product or sample rather than inferring performance or hair suitability from one dimension. Use the Types of Claw Clips guide for the shape framework.
Curvature
Compare the outer profile and resting shape.
Internal space
Check the interior form against the physical sample.
Jaw geometry
Record this only when the project needs it and both parties agree on the measurement position.
Tooth design
Compare tooth layout and spacing against the physical reference.
Verified ClawClipFactory Overall Length examples
These are verified existing-mold examples. Their lengths do not establish holding force, hair suitability or any performance rating.
Review existing claw clip styles to compare real product references with these measurements.
What buyers should specify before sampling
Identify the reference
Provide an existing model code, physical sample, drawing or clear product image.
Record the measurement
State Overall Length with the unit and describe the measurement points used.
Add project inputs
Include material, color/finish, estimated quantity and destination. Review production scope on the Capabilities page.
Confirm against a sample
After the inquiry and sampling stages, confirm the physical sample and record the agreed result in the order documents.
Existing mold or a custom requirement?
If an existing model meets the required shape and overall length, start with the existing-mold collection. A different project specification can follow the custom claw clip route. A new shape or geometry requires a separate tooling review.
Existing mold
Use this route when the model matches the required shape and Overall Length.

Color and appearance: discuss Custom options. Changes to geometry or dimensions: submit a separate Custom Tooling review.

Measurement questions
Measurement points, model references and sample confirmation for a clearer size brief.
04 questionsWhich dimensions should be included in a claw clip RFQ?
Begin with verified Overall Length, the unit and the exact product or model reference. Add other dimensions only when they have clear measurement points and verified project data.
Why can't one Small, Medium or Large chart be used for every mold?
Those labels are not universally standardized. Products with similar outside lengths may still have different curvature, internal space, jaws and tooth geometry.
When should jaw opening be recorded?
Record jaw opening only when the project needs it and both parties have agreed on the clip position and measurement points. Keep it separate from overall length.
How should a buyer confirm measurements before production?
Compare the agreed measurement against the physical sample and record the approved result in the project-specific order documents.

Include the product/model reference, Overall Length, material, color/finish, estimated quantity and destination. Note whether the project needs a new shape.
